IU IPE Podcast Looks at Health Professionals Lives During a Pandemic
As medical professionals and students face unprecedented times, the Indiana University Interprofessional Practice and Education Center (IU IPE) is giving you a glimpse into their lives. Practicing Professions: Medical Life During Covid-19 features interviews with five health professionals and two students about how their professional and personal lives have changed since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The world is in the middle of a once in a lifetime health crisis. Professionals have new challenges on a day-to-day basis and students don’t know how they’re going to fulfill requirements or if they’re going to be properly prepared when it’s time step into the workforce.
This podcast dives into how personal protective equipment has changed the thought process of emergency medicine professionals and how hospitalists days are affected when they can’t read people’s faces. Administrators and students give us a glimpse into the changes made to safely continue training future medical professionals. An ICU nurse speaks to the challenges of fighting against a virus we’ve never seen before. Listeners will hear how returning home from a shift requires a new routine.
