IU IPE to Host Stage 2 Experience and Simulation Center Tour at 2026 NAP Forum

The Indiana University Interprofessional Practice and Education Center (IU IPE) will play a prominent role at the 2026 Annual Meeting and Forum of the National Academies of Practice (NAP), held March 12–14 in Indianapolis.

In addition to Dr. Barbara Maxwell delivering the keynote address, IU IPE will host an interactive learning experience exclusively for NAP members that showcases its Interprofessional Core Curriculum (IP Core) in action.

Participants will begin with a brief tour of The Simulation Center at Fairbanks Hall, followed by a facilitated Stage 2 experience drawn from IP Core. During this curricular session, NAP members will participate in a team-based scenario similar to those encountered by IU IPE students. Simulated patients, trained by The Simulation Center, will interact with participants as IU IPE facilitators guide the experience, emphasizing interprofessional communication, role clarity, and the application of Stage 1’s foundational values and ethics.

Members of IU IPE's faculty and staff will be present during the session, underscoring their leadership and ongoing commitment to advancing collaborative practice through experiential learning. In addition to engaging in the Stage 2 experience, participants will have the opportunity for discussion and dialogue with the IU IPE team.

IU IPE will also contribute a lightning talk during the Forum, further highlighting the center’s work and engagement with national partners. Together with the keynote address, these activities position IU IPE as an active contributor to conversations shaping interprofessional education and collaborative care nationwide.
