The IU Student Outreach Clinic (IU SOC) held an Open House on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 1 PM – 3 PM at the Neighborhood Fellowship Church, were clinic is held every Saturday. At the open house the University Clinical Affairs Deans joined students, faculty, and community members to learn more about the clinic, meet clinic volunteers and demonstrate support of the clinic and its mission. Distinguished guests included IUPUI Chancellor, Charles Bantz as well as Mayor Greg Ballard.
The IU Center for Interprofessional Health Education and practice was thrilled to be a part of the event and is excited to see the clinic grow not only in the services they are able to provide, but also in their commitment to implementing interprofessional care models.
The IU SOC is a free clinic started by students at the IU School of Medicine in the Indianapolis Near Eastside’s Fellowship Church in 2009. The clinic now offers an array of services through partnerships with:
- The Butler University College of Pharmacy
- IU School of Social Work
- IU School of Dentistry
- IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law
- IU School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences
- Krannert School of Physical Therapy at University of Indianapolis and
- IU School of Nursing
