We paired with the Indiana Addiction Issues Coalition to present an Interprofessional Grand Rounds at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital’s Wegmiller Auditorium. Our moderator, Brandon George, laid out a far too familiar scene as our actors depicted a family who’s son suffers from substance use disorder and had attempted suicide.
A panel of experts in substance abuse, behavioral health, and local community agencies then discussed the situation from different angles. All lending their expertise and working together as an interprofessional unit as “John Smith” made his way from emergency room admittance to outpatient care. The 100+ attendees were given opportunities to ask questions and help diagnose different issues.
