The Indiana University School of Education and the Interprofessional Practice and Education Center are excited to announce the third year of the Interprofessional Practice and Education Certificate Series!

The primary purpose of the program is to foster the development of interprofessionalism among participants. There will be four workshops each academic year—two in the fall semester and two in the spring. To earn the certification of completion, participants must complete three of four workshops.

For the 2021 fall semester, we will be offering the following workshops:

Human Trafficking in Indiana. Deb Getz, M.S., Re.D, CYC-P, a Clinical Associate Professor at the Indiana University School of Public Health, is our presenter. This workshop prepares students to outline types of human trafficking, notice red flags that indicate trafficking, and identify your role in preventing human trafficking in our state. The workshop takes place on Wednesday, October 13th, from 7:00-8:30 at the Indiana University School of Education building room 2140. Social Determinants of Health. Andrea Janota, MPH, the Director of Project ECHO and Adjunct Faculty at the Indiana University Fairbanks School of Public Health, leads this session. This workshop will allow students to define social determinants of health and how they impact an individual’s health. After completion, students should be able to give examples of health, community, and social determinants of health, recognize how individual health and society are related, and analyze how social determinants of health can impact an individuals’ and community’s health.
