IU IPE Announces Seed Grant

Jun 17, 2021
The Indiana University Interprofessional Practice and Education Center (IU IPE) is excited to announce the creation of the IU IPE Seed Grant Program (SGP). The SGP is worth up to $5,000 of matchable monies and will be awarded by December 1, 2021. The SGP is a way for IU IPE to provide faculty with funding, consultation, and support to develop and implement new educational programming into the existing statewide IPE Team Education Advancing Collaboration in Healthcare (TEACH!) curriculum. TEACH! is an interprofessional curriculum offered to health profession students across nine Indiana University campuses. This interactive programming engages students across multiple health disciplines by creating opportunities that emulate real-world, team-based scenarios. By producing team-based curricula, students from different disciplines learn to collaborate and while improving patient health outcomes.
“…we anticipate that the expertise of the faculty across our partner schools and programs collaborating on SGP proposals will generate new, real-world, competency-based learning experiences. We hope that the SGP will benefit students and faculty by providing more options for learners to engage in interprofessional experiences while also creating an opportunity for faculty engagement and scholarship in IPECP.” - Dr. Laura Romito.
To apply for funding, faculty must submit applications to the IU IPE between August 1 and September 15, 2021. Submissions must describe learning experiences involving students from at least two (2) professions participating in the TEACH! Curriculum.  A complete list of proposal evaluation criteria and submission guidelines is available on the IU IPE SGP webpage.
